Beach Haven c.1902 Villa

This beautiful Victorian villa was completely rebuilt and restored to an exceptional standard.

We worked closely with our architect and client to fully redesign the floorplan, offering a modern twist of indoor-outdoor flow and open plan living, whilst still maintaining the old character charm. 

This project was extensive with most of the weatherboards being replaced or fully stripped back to the original kauri board. Old colonial windows and french doors were sourced from the same era to replace some of the tired joinery. All fretwork, lace, brackets, balustrading, eave brackets, corbels, and finials were custom made to replace the old existing fretwork.

Brand new decks, front and back, were constructed with all new colonial balustrading matching the era. The two luxurious bathrooms were finished with floor to ceiling Italian tiles and designer tap ware providing a sleek modern look. Polished native Kauri floors were rejuvenated, and the enormous 3.3m high ceilings were restored with brand new ceiling roses, battens, and heritage scotia.
